DC is a totally separate system and is architecturally very different, so I'd expect Virtual Merchant support for it to be provided by a totally separate module.

Yeah, this just seemed like the best place to check if anyone is working on it before I started. I am now working on a Virtual Merchange payment processor for Commerce and will post that as a separate project when it's ready for testing.

That sandbox is a good place to post issues, as you've already done. I'm going to mark this as closed, as it sounds like this module won't have a D7 version directly.
