When I upgraded from beta2 (git) to 1.1 (deb), the upgrade process suceeded but it wiped the old hostmaster platform files off the disk, while leaving intact its drush alias and aegir node. Thus, the old hostmaster platform could only be deleted by hand and not from the Aegir frontend.

I agree this is a bug. The debian package goes through special lengths to cleanup its stuff, but doesn't cleanup the alias or the frontend node. Maybe we should modify hostmaster-migrate so that it does it properly?

This has been fixed - we do not trash the platform anymore, afaik.
