I think the checkbox is more viewable just under the 3 textboxes (is the info to be remembered) and not under the all comment block. You not?

Do any other services (such as Joomla or Wordpress) have this movable? Does anyone else want this?

Looking at other apps like wordpress there is no checkbox. They just do it.

Drupal 6 will have comment infos functionality built into core without a checkbox. Maybe this module should go that way, too? Do we need the checkbox?

May I suggest that you change the module's description to indicate that this is now an automatic feature, rather than an opt-in feature? I just wasted a moderate amount of time trying to figure out why I had no settings nor a checkbox on the comment form.
