Is it just me or is the Views module a critical part of Drupal? Am I missing something, or is this module still not a core part of Drupal and still in beta as well? I really like Drupal but dont want to use modules that are still in a "beta" stage on a production website.

If you don't want to use
If you don't want to use modules in beta on production sites, then don't. Use Drupal 6 and stable releases of modules. Don't rant on things that aren't finished but help out to get them finished. The people working on these modules put in a lot of effort to get them out as soon and stable as possible, standing on the sideline shouting isn't going to motivate them to get them released any sooner.

It's particularly inappropriate to rant about what you're getting for free when you've contributed absolutely 0 in almost 3 years, unbelievable.
Sorry, didn't mean to whine,
Sorry, didn't mean to whine, but guess it came out that way. Just seems like Views should have been made a core part of D7.
.
Considering it's not finished, yet, and core is more persnickety than contrib, that would mean D7 still wouldn't be out...
If you don't like that argument, do a search to find the bazillion times this has been discussed before.
