I tried out last 7 dev shot and have genrerated 20 "Basic pages" with Devel generate to test around a lil' bit for performance checking reasons on my server. Deleting the content type basic page causes the warning that all content will be lost after deleting content type "Basic Page", of course. Clear. And after clicking ok, the content type "Basic Page" dissappeared from list of content types as awaited, but going to content administration overview stille shows me the titles of all the generated "Basic Pages" and navigating to full view shows me an empty "Basic Page" with original title.

Bug?

BTW: Does Basic Pages does not support trimmed text from body field? Still wonder that it wasn't NOT selectable.

Sorry for confusing but I have to correct my first post:
Last part of my start post after BTW, the missing choice for trimmed text field seemed to be my fault (no sleep, working over night). I am not sure, but maybe I forgot to navigate from manage fields to manage displays. Because now I think it was there, because it is selectable on any other content type here.
