i am not sure this is the right place to ask this question. but, does the barracuda/octopus scripts have a script that manages logs like Logrotate already in it? if not is it safe to use logrotate? thanks.

The logs are already rotated by default, you can change default settings in /etc/logrotate.d/* files.
