I have a block appearing inside the content block at the bottom that contains only the words "Popular Content" in large lettering. It is there only while the page is loading. When the browser client indicates a page has completed loading it disappears. Access log and Count content are disabled. No "Popular Content" block appears in the Blocks list.

It appears only for non-authenticated users.

It is undesirable that is appears. What module producing this and how is it prevented from appearing?

In case you are wondering why you don't see the "popular content" views in your views settings, you need to do the following to get them to show:

enable the statistics module
browse to admin -> settings -> statistics -> and enable "count content views."
go to administer -> blocks -> and enable the "popular content" blocks.

You can adjust how many content items show by editing the popular content view under admin -> views.
