I'm curious to the purpose of this module. There are already projects at large like mediaelement.js and jplayer which provide the ability to play audio and video tags using fallbacks like flash and silverlight. These already have drupal modules which integrate these web community at large projects.

When I read the description of this module it seems like the goal is to roll our own Drupal video/audio tag solution from the integration through to the flash. Is this that case?

I'm looking for a use case for the module outside using a library that does the job but needs some Drupal integration.

I would like to add that I am completely open here whatever we decide. I just want to make sure that we provide the core functionality within Drupal core so that any module can extend it and build on top of it.

Please let me know your thoughts.
