Finally switched to this module from Apache redirects ... but came across this problem:

When I have a cart link (such as /cart/add/e-p100_q1_a7o33-ca_1year?destination=cart/checkout) on a non-SSL page, then these cart links fail to add products in the cart and the message appears that you don't have any items in your cart!

But when I make this non-SSL page a secure page or disable non_SSL switching then these cart links work fine.

Is there a way to make cart links work from a non_SSL location?

Seems to be related with destination problem see this issue: #992014: Links with destination URLs are broken
