Under Administer -> Site
Under Administer -> Site Configuration -> File System, do you have it set to Private Downloads? Or did you not setup the File system yet?
The file system needs to be setup and be set to Public Downloads for the color picker to work. It's a common problem for new installs, it seems.
Thanks both of you,
Thanks both of you,
Indeed I had the file download settings set to private. After changing this I am able to change the basic color set. But the color wheel and the preview still not is available.
As in http://drupal.org/node/109457 is stated: "if Javascript is disabled, you still see the Color scheme fieldset with a select box and a number of textboxes, but no longer the color wheel or the preview."
My browser supports Javascript, but I found the problem: when using my default browser (Firefox 2.0) the wheel is not visible, in IE 6.0 it is available !!!
Thanks a lot for your quick info.
PROMES
Firefox 2 is not to blame here.
Promes,
Firefox 2 does show the color wheel, and it works fine when setting colors and selecting presets. You may have a Firefox add-on that's prohibiting Javascript from doing its dirty work.

The first time I tried to set the Garland settings, the color wheel did not show.
To my surprise, today it did. Maybe because of a restart of FF ?
Be assured I love FF as my first browser ! Sometimes I have to fallback to IE (some sites don't work to well with FF, like my banking-site). And of course I use IE and Opera to check all my sites for proper working.
Sorry to bother you and others and also sorry I hadn't the time to report this earlier.
