Any time I try to edit a container that is set to expanded, it loses the expanded status. I tried installing the advanced menu module, but the same thing still happens.

The default Menu settings, that do not contain a checkbox for "expanded", overwrite the previously set "expanded" status on submit.
Every time I change a word on the edit page, I have to go back and edit the advanced settings for the menu item to restore its expanded status.

Is there a workaround for this? Im going to have to train someone else to manage the site soon and I'd rather not make him go through all this every time he makes an edit.

Can someone at least tell me if this is normal or something wrong with my install? I have searched all over and can't find this mentioned.
The only things close had replies like "install advanced menus".

I've also noticed that it also sets the weight value for the container back to 0 every single time I submit changes. I know this can't be normal.

I guess I have to assume that no one else has this problem. I still can't figure out how to get around it. I can't edit a category without losing expanded status and even if I edit a container containing multiple categories, it wipes out the expanded status of all of its categories at once.

This sucks.
