For Views cache to work, does one have to enable block cache in the administration area or is it independent of each other? Thx.

The block cache and the views cache are two independent cache systems.

In general vies allows you to be much more flexible, but the block cache is runned earlier so less code is involved if you have a cached result.

I have a block view. Would you recommend using block cache and views cache simultaneously? Or is that redundant?
