Would the module apachesolr_multilingual work with a service like Acquia Search?

From what I understand from trying out the module apachesolr_multilingual it helps generating apache solr configuration files, that have to be installed on the apache solr server

This wouldnt work with a service like Acquia Search, right? It might be good to add note to the readme and project page about this.

I already mentioned several times in sessions and talks that Acquia Search doesn't support custom configurations at the moment. From my point of view, it's up to them to point this out.

I know other providers offering hosting including Solr with custom configurations.

But this is drupal.org and I don't want to promote someone here.
