Hiya,

FCK works great in Firefox 2.0.0.1, but in IE6 & IE7 it loads up, but I just can't get it in to focus. I cannot add any text.
the main error I get, is 'FCK.EditorDocument.Selection' is null or not an object.

I do know that FCK works for both version of IE mentioned. but just that in Drupal it's not working.
I'm using FCK-editor 2.4.

do you have any themes/modules installed that add javascript? somehere in there might be a problem for msie.

Also FCKeidtor is not yet fully tested and supported for the drupal module.

Good afternoon,

I have downgraded the version I was using to 2.3.2, no change in the ability to work in IE. However, this problem appears to be an IE only problem as the editor works quite happily in Firefox.
Things I have tried to do:
Set FCK to be a popup, doesn't work in either FF or IE.
IS there a way to ID IE, and for the time being disable FCK ? I know it's a bit unorthodox, but till there is either a workaround or a fix for this to work with IE, I don't want my FF users to be dis-advantaged.
I know their is a block for opera users.

for the moment the fckeditor 5.x-1.1 module with fckeditor 2.3.2 should work in msie

Good evening.

Just to report back, have tried to use FCK 2.3.3 and 2.3.2 which is the recommended version. I still get the same problems, ie, in MSIE, the toolbar loads up, then nothing.
Error detail attached,

Again, looking for a way to disable FCK for IE for the time being.

Ok update, changed the toolbars from Drupal Basic to basic and Drupal full to default. In this situation FCK works with IE!

I hope this gives you a pointer to where the IE problem could be?

I had a similar problem. I upgraded from Drupal 4.7 to 5.1 (FCKeditor 2.3.2). FCKeditor didn't show up in IE6

However,
- it did show up in FF 1.0.7. and 2.0.0.2
- changing the settings of FCKeditor as mentioned above to basic/drupal basic didn't help, still nothing on IE6
- the error under "!" in the IE6 status bar said:
line: 238
char: 3
error: 'oFCKeditor_edit_body' is null or not an object
code: 0
URL: ../node/add/nieuws

On the other hand:
- the demo on fckeditor.net worked well with FF 1.0.7, 2.0.2 and IE6

Then:
- I tried IE6 on another computer with IE6 (both 6.0.2800.1106 and win2k). Strangely enough fckeditor did show up!
- at that point I emptied the IE6 cache etcetera on my computer and problems disappeared! FCKeditor showed up normally...!

Hope this might help somebody.
