Is this module maintained? There is no hint, no documentation, no short how-to, no 3 steps on project page, simply nothing what says how to implement the settings correctly to see any result in D7. There are unexplained options in the settings, and after me telling fields to use fancybox in different manage display dialogs, there simply nothing happens on the parts of the website ...
Should I take a look into the code by myself ? Or is there any road somebody can tell me to go ... ?
How can I provide feedback on the dev version when I even don't know what the developer wanted to have set up in the empty fields of the options settings to work in different scenarios as espected ?
no idea ...

dqdlast commit 28 weeks ago ... hm. it seems the modul is dead? Sorry for sounding harsh, I don't want to. I just have to rush some things here and was thinking about developing a fancybox module by myself. Then I found this and don't know if I should pick up your code to make it work or start from scratch anew. I absolutely understand that this is not the place here to be in service all night and day for others. All what I need is a little reaction or somebody to contact. After resetting it seems to work, but not for long. It is a fresh standart Drupal 7 installation with fancybox on imagefields. Maybe there is an interfearing problem with Drupal Javascripts. I didn't checked it yet.
I can also take over to maintain it, if you want to. Or we split it up into different modules between D6, 7 and 8. There is a lot to do: last fancybox jquery plugin version is 1.3.4 and you advice to use 1.3.1. Then, there are many many more fancybox options we could put into the form mask, and so on ...
Please take a second and let me know what you think.
Thanks for understanding.

alienzed commentedI got fancybox working but not in the sane way. I installed Colorbox, didn't like it's features, then installed Fancybox manually and it works great. but for some reason if I disable colorbox, fancybox breaks... good times!

scw commentedhi!
@digidog: the fieldset options is empty as long you do a first save on admin settings, then they appear.
@alienzed: i can not confirm your problems. for me colorbox and fancybox work correct even when colorbox gets disabled.
btw, somebody should really care about maintenance. Strange for me is that i can't get onto fancybox plugin site anymore! what's up?
for now you may wanna checkout this. And please let me know if there are any problems. I will leave this on git until it gets merged or this version gets updated.
cheers

dalberts69 commentedI made some slight modifications to add the grouping settings here: http://drupal.org/node/1162552
If you'd like to add to your version, or see a way it could be improved, feel free.

dqdThanks a lot @scw for mentioning save on admin settings!
And thanks for all your efforts here, folks, ... but for saying that, I think it's dead.
Sorry - I had to turn back to colorbox.

adamgerthel commented@scw have you tried contacting the current maintainers? You seem like an ideal co-maintainer for the module.

scw commentedhi,
no i have not, i thought you guys did that already. thanks for the confidence ;-) but i think there is low demand for this module. Most people using colorbox and galleria and of course the views stuff. btw, fancybox site is online again...

adamgerthel commentedIt's a shame. Fancybox is so much better in my opinion.
