I have a clean install of 5.1

I have enabled
forums

category module (
Category access control lite (disabled),
Category bulk edit (enabled),
Category display (enabled),
Category export (enabled),
Category legacy (disabled),
Category menu (enabled),
Category outliner (enabled),
Category pathauto (disabled),
Category transform (disabled),
Category views (disabled),
Taxonomy (enabled)) << required by forum

CCK (most submodules)

I know I could just post a "forum topic" under a specific forum (of a container forum).
but only before the installation of category module.

after installing the category module I am lost !?

When I am trying to create or edit a "forum topic" it does not have the option to specify the "container and forum" it belongs

I have tried many different configurations with the category settings but to no luck

What are the proper settings for forums to work like before category module

Thanks for you time

my test case:

clean install of drupal 5.1
upload and install category as per jaza's (module creator's) instructions http://category.greenash.net.au/taxonomymodules#comment-30
followed the rest of the instructions one by one and everything went as described

trouble comes when you try to post a topic in a specific forum

the post appears as content (admin/content/node) but it does not appear under any of the forums created

bdragon has found a solution to this take a look at http://drupal.org/node/59728#comment-193003
