If we're looking for a solution for all blocks, we'd need some kind of preview functionality on:
The first one may be somewhat covered by this issue - #1164730: Blocks overview pages lacks context, overwhelms new users - since that is discussing drag and drop, and drag and drop might turn out to be easier than a full fledged preview with a separate interface for editing it :)

Grondhammar commentedThis looks like it's dead but this is something I run into constantly doing contract work. People say "If it's a CMS, why can't I preview changes? Why can't I roll back changes?"
If someone has a concoction that resolves this problem, it'd be great to hear about it. I'm currently trying to use Panels->Minipanels with node content to try to deal with this, but it's certainly not ideal.
