background image glitch using image galleries

I am using the image.module Module to create image galleries on my site using the antique_modern theme. When I actually navigate to a test gallery in Firefox or Safari (works fine in IE7 and is untested in IE6) the background images seem to get a little confused (see attached screenshot). I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem or something similar and has a potential solution. Thanks all!
