How do I completely get rid of teasers on my site, writing an article then posting it, only to find out that you've only posted a teaser is irritating to no end. I don't even understand why teaser is the default setting, rather than an option. So basically the questions are, where is the setting to change from teaser to full article, once a teaser is in place how do people actually view the complete article, (if you click on either the article name or read more you get sent to a page that only has the page title and no content in it), and last but not least, how do I make full content the default? This teaser thing is just killing me. Oh yeah and one more thing, how do I actually edit articles? When I click edit it doesn't send me to a screen with editable content on it, talk about frustrating

Something is wrong with your Drupal. That's not how it behaves by default.
Unfortunately I don't have any experience on Drupal 7.x as to guide you.
But think on things that could have go wrong during install or configuration.

When I installed I got a register_globals enabled error, so I had my host disable register_globals, then I tore the site down, and reinstalled, every since then I have gotten just about every error you can concieve of, I get a full page of errors when I delete an account, I get an error when I try to set up a chatroom using chat mod, I get errors when people try to make accounts, everything I do causes an error, and this whole teaser thing is just too much. I went with Drupal over Wordpress and Joomla because I read it was so powerful, I don't see how it can be so powerful and so full of errors as well, I don't know what to do at this point.

Clearly there is something wrong with your install.
Drupal is quite good in many ways. It would be unfair to judge the work of everyone involved in this project based solely on a bad experience.

If you are willing to give it a go, we could start by trying to help you in finding what could have gone wrong.
Have you read basic Drupal install and requirements information?
Can you describe the steps you took for the installation?
Could you share the error messages currently appearing in your site?

Pasting any common error would be, I believe, the fastest approach.

I wasn't about to give up on Drupal, it has so much going for it that the other two I mentioned don't, it's why I chose Drupal, I am one of those people that when I have my mind set on something it may take 20 years to get it done, but it will be done. What I did originally was use simple scripts to install Drupal, and got the register_globabls error, Fatcow disabled that so I tore down my site and re-installed, but I got errors on everything... I mean everything, today I tore down my site again, this time when I did I went through my file manager and deleted every directory there, when I was done and opened root there was no files to be found, then I used simple scripts to install drupal again, and now when I create an account there are no errors, I wrote an article with just random chars and the enter key, and there is no teaser displayed, the full article is there, so I don't know, it must have been the install. I read there was a high learning curve on Drupal then read a book about it and it wasn't my first option, matter of fact it wasn't even on the list, then some things changed, my site is going to be a news and social networking site, Joomla had extensions that would allow you to place rss feeds anywhere on a page, but no cron, or registered user blog function, wordpress had cron and user blog function but you really can't put rss feeds where you want them, I wanted a software that I could use as an all in one, and Drupal is that software. I will get frustrated, and I will ask alot of questions, but this will be a site with one software run, not a combination of softwares. I want this to work, and it will, once I found what I was looking for it was learning curve be damned, so be ready for some really stupid questions, and thanks for the software.

I was wrong, the issue was only partially fixed, so I deciced to do a manual install. I uploaded drupal 7.2 to my host, unzipped it using archive gateway, and pointed it to a directory named thedailyorbitcom, created a database using mysql for it, then used the url to open and install it. I answered the first couple of questions and on the third where it asks database information, I put in the correct information and got an error, so I went and double checked everything, and got another error, can someone please tell me how to fix the following error so I can actually get my site up and running?

In order for Drupal to work, and to continue with the installation process, you must resolve all issues reported below. For more help with configuring your database server, see the installation handbook. If you are unsure what any of this means you should probably contact your hosting provider.

Failed to connect to your database server. The server reports the following message: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2).

Is the database server running?
Does the database exist, and have you entered the correct database name?
Have you entered the correct username and password?
Have you entered the correct database hostname?

I created a database, but for some reason it wasn't created, went back and re-created it, and have drupal 7.2 up, hopefully the manual install fixed the problems

Sorry I couldn't get back sooner.
It's nice to read you have solved it.

Just in case, Drupal will need to modify database tables structure so you better give it's MySQL user all the privileges on that database.

Error installing advanced forum module and chat room module is the name of the thread and I get this error every time I try to install a mod on Drupal:

that is a new one, I have been getting this error all day when I try to install a mod as an error on the frontend:
No active batch.

and here is the error for the actual mods:

I talked to my host, and was told that none of my errors are server side, they are all from the software provider, I really need help with this
