we use node_embed to embed image-nodes into textfields of contenttype A. we also use cck_blocks to display a field of A in a block.
putting a dpm() inside the node-embed--XYZ.tpl.php shows, that the template get's called twice as soon as cck_blocks is enabled.

at first i thought it might be a cck_blocks issue, but when using a field-template for a field of A and inserting a dpm() there too shows,
that this fieldtemplate only gets called once like expected.

so this might be an issue with node_embed?

As of 22 September 2014, we no longer support the Drupal 6 version of Node Embed due to the small install base (< 15%) and more importantly: general lack of time.
