As a first step in allowing content to be differentiated on Drupal.org, why don't we find an easy way to promote important content *on* drupal.org to be listed in the planet? I've long been baffled that people will read what I post on my blog, but not what I post on Drupal.org.

Dave ReidAnything promoted to the frontpage is already aggregated. Otherwise, we're limited by what Aggregator.module can do. Unless we can make a flagged feed.

mherchelHow would we choose which items get sent to the Planet? Everything? Flagged items?
Easy question: How many new pieces of content are created each day (ballpark figure)?

rfayI'm thinking curated content here. A flag available to anyone could propose an article for publication. That's easy enough. A curator could flag it for inclusion in a feed (or tag it for inclusion in the planet). Not too hard.

Gábor HojtsyYes, for the multilingual D8 initiative, I've just posted to my blog (comments disallowed) and to g.d.o (comments allowed), so it appears on the planet and I get more feedback on the post. It would indeed be great to be able to promote posts from g.d.o to the planet. Also, while g.d.o already has some curation in the form of its front page, g.d.o front page posts are not necessarily equal to what should go on planet IMHO.

joshuamiWe are working on cleaning up Drupal.org-related issue queues. Many issues have been open for years with no resolution because there were no volunteers interested in taking on the task or staff time available to complete the work.
We are going through old issues and marking them as Closed (won't fix). If you feel your issue has been closed in error, please do comment on the issue and let us know. If we know something is critical, we may reconsider the closure of a feature request or bug report.
Thank you for your understanding while we work to clean up the Drupal.org queues.
