Is there a good reason for limiting the link title to 255 chars? This is occasionally limiting and 2048 would give greater flexibility.

Well, currently we're running into problems with the size of each row in some setups of mysql with the current setup, which has 255 for title and 2048 for the url. I'm not sure what I'm going to be ending up doing, but I'm considering either shortening the url field and taking more room for the title, or... something.

I'm up for suggestions, as this influences both this version and D7.

Thank you all for your efforts, but I'm sorry to say that the D6 version is no longer supported.
