I have setup the advanced search to be able to filter by content type and it works fine with an authenticated user, but not anonymous users. How can I get the content type dropdown to display for anonymous users in advanced search?

Further clarification: It appears that the content type filter is only working in the advanced search for the main site admin user. I have set all the proper permissions, and the taxonomy option for advanced search displays fine.

I'm taking some liberty but a support request from 2011 is probably fixed or irrelevant. If you disagree, please reopen and provide more details.

The issue is still here. Seems that the drop down options in my case, which are used to choose different taxonomy options, are only visible to authenticated users even if permissions are changed.

Can you try with a more recent version of the module (7.x-1.2 is from March 2010…)?

@patrick.mulvey : how are set your permissions for custom search module?

To be able to view custom search, you also need to have the permission "use advanced search" selected for Drupal search module.
Maybe you forgot it ?

D7 reached its EOL back in January 2025, and there is no active release for D7 for this module anymore.
Development or support is not planned for D7. All D7-related issues are marked as outdated in a bunch.

If the issue remains relevant for D10+ versions, merge requests with proposed solutions for a new module version (D10+) are welcome in a new follow-up issue.

Thanks!
