I've seen it, but not tried it so I don't know.

It does sound broadly similar. If you do try both, if you could come back and post your findings here that would be brilliant -- I'll add details to the project page for other people, or if they're the same mark this one as obsolete.

yes they do the same exact job

you can use " Limit "Taxonomy: Term" values to result set" > hide if empty
working in both views 2 and views 3 #1152514: Change select list into checkboxes

maybe this module is obsolete
