The font is called FF Max. This information is in the handbook located here: http://drupal.org/node/27367. It's not a free font, but is available from http://www.fontfont.com/.

However, if you just need the Drupal logo to create marketing materials and so on, there is a scalable vector copy of the Drupal logo available here: drupal.typography.svg
