Hi, I have been working on a website that I would love to put on here and possibly get any feedback from this community. This is my first site I have created with Drupal (besides my portfolio site). The site is called www.spiffiedeals.com. I have been working on this site for the past few months. I would love any feedback or ideas that I could use to improve the site.
The goal of spiffiedeals.com is to be location based and to give community users an area/place to list specials, deals or bargains going on in their community. I tried to accomplish this by giving users the ability to create topics on the site with 3 main topic types; forum topic, groups with group topics and a custom type called deals.
Seeing how this is my first Drupal site I wanted to learn as much I could when creating it. So, I decided to design a custom theme for the site, panel layouts are custom, plus I create a custom advanced forum theme.
One thing I have learned from making this SpiffieDeals is that you constantly want to add new exciting modules that can add new features to your site. When I started testing modules for this site I was in the habit of doing that. However, I realized the best approach was to try to keep things as simple as possible or users would be confused and too many modules on a site will slow it down.
This site is currently using Drupal version 6.

the idea is great. i love it. but the frontpage has to be changed to something more professional looking. Perhaps you can have a look at other websites doing the same thing to get some ideas from.
