I tried installing http://drupal.org/project/require_login in several locations but can't seem to locate the module in the Admin screen. I'm simply trying to require users to login before they can browse my ManagingNews site. Is this possible? Thanks for your assistance.

To do that goto /admin/user/permissions then simply remove "access content" permission for "anonymous" users.
