Hi,

Is the "Drupal.org" theme available for download anywhere?

since they want to keep the Drupal site unique, the BlueBeach theme is not available

See this discussion post and reply.

I do think it would be good to access the code for the theme as a base to hack into new and different themes. But the fact is most people are lazy, or don't have the skills, so they just use it as is.

Ok, thanks for answering. Anyone who knows if the Spread Firefox (http://www.spreadfirefox.com) theme is available for the public?

Cheers

the firefox isn't available either

the best thing to do is to examine their style sheets, and learn what they have doen to get the site looking like it does, and then rewrite the stylesheet in on of the themes that comes with drupal

Spread Firefox actually came first, and it was based on Mozilla.org's recent redesign by SilverOrange.

And the Spread Firefox theme will be available in an upcoming release of CivicSpace. I've received lots of requests, so I'm going to making it a little more generic and then release it.

How goes it creating a tab-based theme? The alistapart post was interesting. I'm wondering if anyone has created a generic drupal theme with tabbing for the primary navigataion. Thanks.

Bluebeach and SpreadFirefox are two different themes with no common base in HTML, images or CSS. However it is true that Bluebeach gets some ideas from SpreadFirefox and the Mozilla site in general: when we saw how successful the marketing of Firefox was, we knew they were doing something good and decided to go down the same route. This is no secret at all and this why we now have the large spotlight area on the frontpage which advertises Drupal.

Some people have remarked that the page header looks similar to the one on Mozilla. I agree that there are resemblances, but to say that the two themes are identical shows that you need to pay more attention to details. A theme is a lot more than just a header: it's a set of colors, fonts, borders, margins, forms and styles which work together to form a harmonious whole.

I don't mind at all if people get ideas from BlueBeach for their own site, as long as you don't copy literally.
