First of all: thaks for great module.
I was preparing a multilang site, trying Translation Manager. Everything works fine as expected incl. "Machine (Google Translate)". Great for fast/basic translation.
When I switched the site to production on June 1st 2011, google translation stop working.
Result:
- Translation using Google is completly missing (no new node)
or
- All fields are empty (new empty node)
The same happends on the production server even on the testing server (which was working ok before).
Tested on: 6-1.23 and 6-1.dev

icanlocalize commentedGoogle announced they're discontinuing the Translate API. They are now limiting requests to the API and will soon block it completely.

We already have a different issue for removing this API from the module altogether.

evil_cz commentedThanks for answer.
From google web: "...the number of requests you may make per day will be limited and the API will be shut off completely on December 1, 2011."
Situation: June 2, 2011. Limit number of requests you may make per day = 0 (maybe 1)

icanlocalize commentedWe're not planning to replace the Google API with another service. I suspect that if Google is shutting this down, other free APIs will collapse when they get all this traffic from Google.
We'll disable it in the module and see what happens. If there are other paid alternatives, we may include them. Paid machine translation services are more likely to continue over time than free ones.
