Calling all Drupal geeks!
The next DrupalCon will be at the Open Source CMS Summit hosted by Yahoo!. This will take place on March 22 and 23, 2007 at Yahoo! campus in Sunnyvale, CA.
We are now accepting session proposals. Please:
- register an account.
- submit a session proposal.
- rate the existing session proposals.
- register for the conference.
- Don't forget to plan around the adjunct events - including a Performance and Scalability session (fundraiser for the Drupal Association) and Drupal Hackfest!
Session submission will be allowed until Friday, February 16, 2007. Voting will be left open another week after that. The formal program / schedule for the event will be announced around Thursday, March 1, 2007.
See you there!! :)

Who is this targetted to?
What types of drupalers should attend this event? Is there going to be tutorials? I'd love to start meeting with other drupal users and developers.
Use Steven's answer.
It's much better than mine was. ;)
Generic answer
Still, the generic answer is that the conference is created by its participants. If you want to see a certain type of session, your best option is to organise or coordinate it yourself. Not every session must be a projector lecture: you can have round-table discussions, code corners, show and tell, etc.
OSCMS 2006 in Vancouver had plenty of Drupal developers and companies but also people who just use Drupal and are curious. And also, the social interaction is a huge bonus in events like this.

You'll most likely gain from coming
I've spoken with people of all skill levels and interests who have attended past Drupalcons. These events are significant and make a huge difference for the people who attend. All attendees have something to learn, to gain, and to share.

Why not have the next DrupalCon in Second Life? :-)
I haven't used Second Life
I haven't used Second Life for some time now, but that's not a bad idea.

That's really nice of you. There's a forum specifically for ride sharing information: http://2007.oscms-summit.org/forum/34

Login has stopped working on OSCMS site
Hey, the login seems to have died on the OSCMS site. There's no contact link to inform the developers. Anyone know who's responsible for the site?

...
I just tested it and was able to log on.

A fix was committed...
Try it again, and it should work. :)
registration doesn't work
Doesn't work for me

Anyone know whats going on with the site? I can't register...there is no link to create a username/passwd
and the registration page gives me a 404
j
huh
it's the Login/Register link. Top of the column, second from the right. Failing that, it's a Drupal site so http://2007.oscms-summit.org/user works for me. Though you may be running into this

Registration is on hold
We've gotten higher than expected participation, and are temporarily putting registration on hold. Should be open again in a day or so.
How about putting that fact
How about putting that fact on the front page of the website?
its there....
its just not very pronounced...buried in the gray/blue block, 2nd paragraph down.
will registrations re-open?
Anyone know if registrations are going to re-open? Perhaps if enough folks cancel their existing registrations? Registrations are now closed, so I'm wondering if there's any way I can still attend.
Wait List?
Is there the possibility of having a wait list we can at least sign up on?
I got approval to go, started travel arrangements and by the time I went to register, it was closed (it was open one minute and closed the next!). Now I'm sitting on reservations that need to be canceled soon. As someone new to Drupal, I would very much love the chance to learn more.
