Creating a new site with Kanji, http://www.onepagenovels.com, so most of the main menu links currently point to .

On the main menu the Contact link drops down the various contact forms.

The About link doesn't work when on the home page. However, if a content page (that should appear under the About link) is opened the drop down menu does work.

Visit either of the two above links and you'll see the drop down menu appear under the About link, then click home and the drop down menu won't appear.

I had a similar issue. The fix for me was to make sure "Show as expanded" was checked under each menu link.
