Hope to see this module ported to 7, are there any other Adsense modules for D7?

Yes, considering this is the only Adsense module for Drupal 7 it would be nice to have a stable release.

Thanks for all your efforts to make this happen; it is appreciated.

Why no one writes a Adsense Revenue Sharing for Drupal 7? Its an urgent needed feature in my opinion. I don't know why drupal developers don't write it. One of the reasons that Drupal is not using as Wordpress or Joomla is not having this and other needed modules.

can we get some maintainer acknowledgement or updates on this task before the end of the world in december dammit?

pfrenssen’s picture

The maintainer has stated that he does not have enough free time to complete the D7 port (see second comment in #1289640: Blockers to a AdSense 7.x-1.0 release?). Feel free to help out by doing (part of) the required work yourself. If you can't do this, and the module is very important to your company or your clients then your best shot is to hire a developer to complete the work and contribute back the changes.

@mjhmobilemedia not sure what you were doing there but if you just wanted to subscribe to this thread, you could have clicked the 'follow' button at the top ;)

Thanks, but it's not that. I said some inappropriate stuff there and had no option to delete it, so I just cleared it.

The thing is that AdSense revenue sharing is one of the most important features an open-source CMS could have. If I knew how to develop it myself, I would. If I knew who to hire, I would.

this user can fix the problem if you want to hire him (http://drupal.org/user/382067)

@mjhmobilemedia If you are serious about hiring a developer to port this module you should contact the maintainers (jcnventura and kbahey). They will be able to help you or at least propose someone who can.

The maintainer has only indicated that he is currently too busy to fix this for free in his spare time, but this does not mean that they are not for hire. Often the maintainers are more than happy to fix existing problems or customize modules to your needs if they can do this in their working time.

Often maintainers are looking after many modules, and they can get hundreds (or even thousands) of requests, and there are only so many hours somebody can spend in their free time answering these questions and fixing problems.

monil-dupe’s picture

But the maintainers don't answer any question relating to support, custom work or etc at all. I don't know what should we do to have a revenue sharing module. Maybe we can use a custom php block and write a revenue sharing code from the scratch.

Thanks for your replies. I will contact them and see what they have to say. If they can do that, or know who can, I may have some more projects for them working with the media modules that I would be glad to compensate them for. I've already had a number one site on the web, so I know how to generate revenue and I don't mind sharing it. That site was on a different platform with a company that I left, and their software is licensed. With Drupal, I see where the possibilities are endless. It's that I keep running into obstacles with modules not functioning as they should, and it would take me to long to learn all the PHP and Drupal development and media integration I'd need to know to get them working myself. I'm learning, just not fast enough for what I want to do. Thanks again for your help.

@mjhmobilemedia , its a good news that you have a number one site on the web and you want to share the module. But i think maintainers don't reply emails. I contacted them but no reply yet after a week. I think its better to find another developer. There are many Drupal coders that can write a adsense revenue sharing module. I try to find someone and you please try to find a developer too.

Any updates from this module or similar module? Did you find any programmer to write an adsense revenue sharing module?

mjhmobilemedia’s picture

@monil Actually, I have been looking into it myself and can't find any documentation of Revenue Sharing for AdSense on Google (http://code.google.com/apis/adsense/management/index.html). I may just not be looking in the right place, or it is possible that Google just no longer supports this. I know this used to work, and it may explain why it no longer does even on the D6 version.

monil-dupe’s picture

@mjhmobilemedia , You are right but Google adsense revenue sharing is not prevented by Google and many websites do this. As you know, if the content of your website doesn't violate Google terms, you can place your ads on all of your websites and its not needed that you approve each of your websites for using Adsense. So any Adsense user, can place hid adsense code on your website, if the content of your website doesn't violate Google terms.
So, using Adesne revenue sharing is OK and you can use it. What did you do for using this module? Any ideas for fixing it?

I'm porting revenue sharing to D7, and I've used some of the work from #1398602: I have problem with revenue sharing.

I'm closing this issue. Further updates will be posted in the one above.
