wonderful! an input filter that allows one to input text without knowing html.
now if only i could install it without using cvs .... :S

what percentage of computer users do you think is a programmer, is capable of using cvs and does not know html ????
what is your target audience???

1. You can download the packages from PEAR without using CVS, you just don't get the most recent version.
2. Even though I know HTML very well, I still don't want to write it because writing it is a pain.
3. Even though I install the module on my page, the users of the page don't need to know neither HTML nor CVS.
4. You don't really need to know CVS since the command you can use is given.

ad 1. to add additional encodings you have to download files through cvs - this is a pain

ad 2. this reason sort of defeats the reason for existance of this plugin ....
btw even though i have all the bells and whistles installed, i prefer to write in a lightweight environment - most attempts at wysiwyg visual editing i've also seen slow down and crash browsers

ad 3. i never said such a thing

ad 4. and copy pasting it gives you an error and exits. in other words; it don't work :(

in short, none of your replies do not touch upon anything that was said in my original mail...
1. the cvs command don't work
2. install from cvs only is not a very friendly way to distribute
