i'm new to drupal. and i don't have any knowledge of php. i installed drupal on Xamp and then uninstalled it because i was having problems with it.

now i'm trying to reinstall it on Xamp but in the installation procedures when i'm propted to enter a username and password a message shows up that says "Failed to connect to your database server. The server reports the following message: SQLSTATE[28000] [1045] Access denied for user 'drupal'@'localhost' (using password: YES).

and when i enter the username and password again the following message shows up "SQLSTATE[42S01]: Base table or view already exists: 1050 Table '"drupal"."variable"' already exists ".

any ideas?
