I get this error Fatal error: Call to undefined function taxonomy_node_get_terms_by_vocabulary() in /home/eescribano/src/oostnv/sites/all/modules/contrib/featured_content/featured_content.module on line 1263. This function is not available for Drupal 7 as I see in the API.

Sure enough, this function no longer exists... I will need to study the taxonomy module code to see how things have changed.

I fixed this and did a big cleanup... lots of things had changed in d7 in the last year. It is checked into dev. I'm going to make a beta release soon.
