Not all shared hosts have access to the lib and lang directories for the CORE awstats installation....
So, how am I supposed to use this if I only have access to the data directory? Which is extremely common I might add...

SO and idea I had was that perhaps its in the shared lib folder, language folder aside that is. So perhaps you might recommend that I attempt using any available lib directories to test for it to work?

I've done a in-depth php scan of non cgi directories on my server, and the awstats.pl file (which launches the core awstats configuration) could not be found anywhere.... which leads me to believe it is either hidden by host (as it should be honestly..) or it is mapped on some form of virtual drive or virtual net proto.

Either way I find it extremely retarded that I can't use this , when I indeed have awstats on my paid hosting, and bawstats is but a php implementation of it.

Until I get a response here... I guess I'm going to start trying to break your module apart until I can figure out a way to bypass this annoying folder requirement issue.

Thanks

Resolved by adding awstats files from fresh, version matched, download of it.
Thanks for the module

Hello dcyuri7,

thanks for your report. It seems like you've found a workaround to the problem. I think that your workaround may be the best solution to the problem - I should put a note in the README about it.

I've added the following paragraph to the README.txt:

If you are on a shared host, AWStats may already be
installed. However, PHP might not be configured to read the AWStats
library, language and data directories (see below). In this case,
you may need to download the same version of AWStats used by your
host, and put the "lib" and "lang" directories in a place that can be
accessed by PHP.

Hopefully this would have made things clearer from the start.
