Category Access Control Lite in 5.1--- Broken in IE 7, possibly Safari and Firefox on Mac

I am setting up an site and going crazy downloading and uploading modules. However, when I looked at the front page view for an anonymous user in IE7, I was distressed to find that what was visible was the post-installation screen that invites you to enter content. Tracking down the culprit, I found an incomplete install of Category, with Path and PathAuto not enabled was responsible, but in continuing the troubleshooting, turning on modules in small batches, I found that the Category Access Control Lite 5.x.1.1 also produced the same problem.
