hey there,
not sure I picked the right place to share my suggestion but anyway.
I noticed that from fresh installs of D7 it's kinda annoying to paste several module tarball addresses one at a time. so instead of a textfield there could be a textarea.
also! could there be a way to paste a module's project page and then have Drupal ask you which version do you prefer? I mean, compatible with the system, of course.
please see the attachments. I can't create a patch on my own, but I'll gladly help test one :]
cheers,
Luciano

dww#720452: Allow ability to install multiple modules at once

LarsKramer commentedActually we are talking about two features here. So perhaps #750352: Provide an option to also offer dev builds as updates if they are newer - for advanced users & beta testers should be marked as a duplicate of this one, or we should focus here on the feature of installing multiple modules at once. What do you think?
There is also #812084: UX: Autocomplete module install
and even #1072176: Module Installation UI should not allow installation of -dev versions.
as well as several other feature requests to update.module that are related to this issue.

LarsKramer commentedSorry, I got things mixed up in my previous comment. #750352: Provide an option to also offer dev builds as updates if they are newer - for advanced users & beta testers is of course about updating, not installing. So forget about that. However, I still think we may consider to focus on just one feature here, and create a separate issue for the other feature (or merge with one of the existing ones).

David_Rothstein commentedSubscribing.
This definitely does seem like two issues in one, so it should be split up.
And in particular these are the two older issues (both already linked to above) that it looks most closely related to:
#720452: Allow ability to install multiple modules at once
#812084: UX: Autocomplete module install
So at least one of the very nice mockups above (and possibly both?) could be moved elsewhere and we can focus this issue on the remaining one.

luco commented@David_Rothstein thanks! I wanted those mockups to really convey my idea.
everyone, sorry for mixing 2 issues in one. I should have known better :S

LarsKramer commentedClosing as duplicate again. You are welcome to add any mising information to the issues mentioned in #6, or you may consider redefining this issue focusing on a single aspect which is not part of the other issues.
