When creating a new panel, it would be great if we could allow substitutions in the CSS ID.
It is already available for Tile, so would be great if this could be added to CSS ID or for all css definable areas.

shiroitatsu commentedI totally agree with that. I'm just trying to find a way to alter CSS of a panel depending on the taxonomy that the content belongs to. With substitutions enabled for css-classes it would be very easy, but now I'm having hard time finding a way to do that.

Letharion commentedCurrently, there's neither a way to have substitutions in css, nor a specific template for taxonomy, though patches for either are welcome.
In the mean time, you can override the panel-pane.tpl.php template file in your theme.
Postponing until someone posts a patch.
