Issue Summary

Hello!

I am getting the message: You must join a Group before posting a Web Links. I don't understand why it's necessary to join a Group. I have my Web Links on a Dashboard where all users can see and post them. Do I need to create a Group and automatically assign everyone to it in order to allow them to post on the dashboard - like a Dashboard Group?

This is a fabulous module and I'm using it with Fivestar. I've got everything working except for this and one other piece where I need to figure out how to set the URL input field to plain text. The one thing that helped me a lot for the Fivestar and Views setup was the video by Nate Haug's video: http://www.lullabot.com/videos/building-views-fivestar-and-votingapi I highly recommend watching it to get all the many pieces working together. The link to it should be posted on the Web Links home page in the documentation. Which by the way is the absolute best of any module I've seen on Drupal. Thank you, thank you, thank you! It means so much when module developers go that extra mile. It made my week!

I'm going to guess that you have Organic Groups. Web Links knows nothing about groups. I suspect you have something set up incorrectly in OG.

Hi Nancy,

Thanks for the quick reply! You're saying the audience field I have in the content type weblinks was put there by the OG module because I selected weblinks as something users could post in a group? I'm just trying to understand how these things work together.

Thank you,
Hélène

Indeed. Audience is not a standard WL field. I've never used OG, so I can only assume that's where it is coming from.

Have you solved?
if I enable the administer node permision for the role I needed, it function. But it isn't the solution.

No further update and it sounds like a problem with OG.
