Is is possible to bulk auto tag nodes and not have to Open and Save each node?

I notice this has no answer. I would be very interested to know if this is possible or anticipated. I have a site with about 4000 nodes, and it would make things rather bizarre if only the latest nodes were autotagged.
If this is not a feature, would it be possible to use Bulk Views Operations to achieve the same result?

you probably need to have some custom module done for this.
