It says on the module info "this is for 4.7" but it only lists a v5 module....will the v5 version work with 4.7 ? Is that the same for the 'news' module (it says the same)?

I'm closing this out as an old issue. There's no longer active support for 4.7, and all new development is going into D5/D6.
