Hi Drupaleers

I am using Drupal 5 with the correlating CCK, workflow and actions modules to have a form that once sumbitted sends an email.

The problem is the "from" in the email is similar to " =?UTF-8?B?RnJvbTogU1BJREEgUG9ydGFsIGZvciBIaWdoY29tIFNlY3VyaXR5IFNlcnZpY2U=?=.=?UT......"

In 4.7 it was a normal addy..

Please assist.

Thanks

lp

Hi,
I had the same issue. Here is what I did to resolve it:

1) Opened the file /modules/actions/actions.inc

2) Then I scrolled down a ways, until I saw a block of code that says:
/**
* Implementation of a Drupal action.
* This is an example action. Actions should live in the modules
* for which the actions apply. For example, node actions should
* be exposed by node.module.
*
*/

3) Then I commented out the original line (by inserting the // ):
// if (drupal_mail('action_send_email', $recipient, $subject, $message, "From: $from\nReply-to: $from\nX-Mailer: Drupal\nReturn-path: $from\nErrors-to: $from" )) {

4) Then I put in the following line directly under the original (now commented out) line:
if (drupal_mail('action_send_email', $recipient, $subject, $message, $from )) {

That worked for me, hope it works for you too!

Thanks,
Jeff

Hey, thank you so much for posting this yesterday... I just HAPPENED to get to this point in the development of a current project today, and just happened to search for a solution to find this posting that you thankfully posted just in time. You saved me a lot of frustration!

Is there any way to pull this work-around out of the module itself and into the template.php file? I know how it works for theming, but not for an any other type of function.

The fieldactions.module also needs to have line 93 swapped out from:

$from = $vars['%site_name'] . '<' . $vars['%site_mail'] . '>';

to

variable_get('site_mail', ini_get('sendmail_from'));

This took me SO LONG to get... so I hope it helps someone else.
