this patch also changes the modules/contrib to just modules
and by default deletes the tarballs just as the configuration shows that cleanup is enabled by default

Thanks for the patch.

I applied the 5.x patch you submitted with a few alterations, and think I will try to backport that to the 4.7.x branch to keep things coherent.
