I'm doing a minor version Drupal upgrade
(vers 6.19 to 6.22).

The documentation advises to disable all the
contributed modules first.

Then after running the core upgrade switch them back on again (in the right order of course).

Here's the question: Do you normally just take a screen shot of your enabled modules list?
Because in my case its quite a long screen shot.

Surely somebody must have developed a better way to do this, perhaps a module that simple generates a list of all your currently enabled modules?

I think you will find that most people don't actually do this for minor version upgrades. I know I never do.

What you should do, is put your site into maintenance mode, backup your database and then run updates. At that point you can run the update and you should be good.

So long as you have a DB backup, it's easy to go back a step if something actually did go wrong.

I don't disable modules for minor upgrades and never had any problem because of this.
