Hello,
I hope that my question is not absolutely wrong in here, furthermore I hope that I am not the only one looking for such a solution in Drupal 6.
So my question is (and I did a lot of research): Is there any alternative for this great module in Drupal 6 or might there be a Drupal 6 backport in the future?
Again: Great module!!

_randy commentedYour question is absolutely valid! A back-port to D6 is something that we toyed with some time ago and started to brainstorm through what it would take and what we would be giving up/gaining by doing so.
Maestro being a native D7 module means that we encorporated a variety of D7 techniques in to the Maestro code base. One of those things is PDO. There is a DBTNG module (http://drupal.org/project/dbtng) which is a back port of the PDO library for D6. However we've never tested or used DBTNG for this purpose and as such, have no idea what (if anything) Maestro would have issues with.
In that same vein, we also have some node, form and theme based mechanisms which may not be backwards compatible with D6. Reworking those elements may take considerable effort.
With these issues combined, we decided to focus on the D7 branch at this time -- unless a project arose which had a D6 + Maestro requirement for which we could base our work off of.
Hope that helps!

MacRonin commentedThis is a duplicate of #1147814: Backport to D6
While the other issue is older, I kept this one open since it had a rather recent response from one of the developers.
Updated the Title to include Project name to make it easier to spot in the Dashboard activity stream.

anybodyI think we can close this now. Drupal 6 becomes more and more unimportant... your reasons are clear!
