Documentation does not tell where to install rcmail

Most modules want programs installed under their module directory. I assume that is not the case here, but how would the average user know? You never specify where it should be installed. (In fact the module's instructions never actually say to install it, just to "obtain" it, and "patch" it. I think you missed a step.)
