After trying to get Search Restrict pushed to Drupal 7 (#663916: D7 port and "Exclude all" feature for Search Restrict was coded December 20, 2009), I've decided to help out with Search Config to get these features into a working Drupal 7 module.
Search Config is tagged as, Abandoned/Obsolete but I still contacted Nesta and got his permission but he didn't update the project permissions. (email below)
As such, I am asking to become a co-maintainer of this module.
Hello Alan,
I don't develop or maintain this module any more, feel free to make
modifications as you see fit.Good luck.

alan d. commentedTwice I've been contact with Nesta with a go ahead response, but still no project permissions granted.
The finished refactored port of search config is here: #1197560: Refactored Drupal 7 port
