Hi---
I have just installed Drupal 5.1, but cannot access the home page or other content pages anonymously.

I have set USER--> Access Control --> Access Content --> Yes

Is there another setting or is there a problem with my installation?

What error do you get or what does the anonymous people see?

Try this: add a blog post and promote it to the frontpage than check again...

I added the blog post, but there was not change in access.

I receive an "Access Denied" page for the home page and the forums page.
