I read some posts on convertin WordPress to Drupal.
I was just curious...
How does Drupal translate categories and Archives from WordPress?
As far as I know Drupal doesn't have capability for "Category" or "Archive", correct?
Can somebody educate me?

I converted from Wordpress to Drupal, you gotta do it on Drupal 4,x with the wordpress2drupal plugin. A new Vocabulary will be created automatically and your wordpess categories will be converted to taxonomy terms. After that, you just upgrade to 5.1 and it works like a charm. Comments, Posts, Categories, Pages, no problem! Note that the Taxonomy Categorisation of Drupal is way more flexible and powerful compared to the Categorisation in Wordpess, but you don't have to use the Power of it and can keep it easy!

Thank you very much.
I really appreciate your reply.

New vocabulary? That sounds interesting, I've gotta see that.
I'm going to try that this weekend.
Thank you for the tip (using 4.x).

Not a traditional module, is a Windows only (at this time) .exe utility program that converts from Wordpress 2.2 to Drupal 5.x. Multiple users and multiple categories catered for. Can import or convert to an already populated Drupal 5.x database. I suspect though, that many would be converting to a fresh install of Drupal 5.x.

I'm currently looking at converting permalinks from Wordpress to Drupal.

Just some food for thought.
